California Consumer Privacy Act Privacy Policy

Introduction

We, Alida Inc., issue this California Consumer Privacy Act Privacy Policy ("CCPA Privacy Policy") to provide information about how we collect, use, disclose and otherwise process California residents' personal information and rights that California residents may have under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 ("CCPA"). This CCPA Privacy Policy only applies to you if you reside in California. This CCPA Privacy Policy does not reflect our processing of California residents' personal information where an exception under the CCPA applies.

1. Our Personal Information Handling Practices over the Preceding 12 Months

The table below sets out the categories of "personal information" and "sensitive personal information" (as defined by the CCPA) about California residents that we collected, the sources of such information, and whether we disclosed such personal information and to whom if so. In the descriptions of categories of personal information below, "consumer" means "California resident". We did not "sell" or "share" California residents' personal information, as these terms are defined in the CCPA.

Following the table are descriptions of the purposes for which we used personal information of: (i) users of our website and other services ("users"); and (ii) representatives of our prospective, current or past customers and vendors ("business contacts").

We use personal information that we collect for the following purposes:

  • Provide our services: provide requested services to you, as described further within this Site, and manage and administer our business relationship with you, including keeping records about business contacts, services and payments to develop our relationship and target our marketing and promotional campaigns;

  • Sales & Marketing: advertise, market and sell our services and products to you; where permitted by law, we may contact you with sales and marketing messages; see below for information on how you can unsubscribe from Alida’s marketing messages;

  • Improve our services: improve Alida’s products and services that it offers, train our staff and improve our communications and sales processes;

  • Facilitate online activities: create accounts, enable interaction in online forums and surveys that we may offer, send you invites and service emails if you become a member of our communities as part of your ongoing membership; contact you to administer rewards such as sweepstakes/contests;

  • Communicate with you: respond to enquiries and send emails, newsletters and other messages to keep you informed of market insights and of our services;

  • Events: run customer and industry awards programs, briefings, roundtables and other events;

  • Procure customer surveys and feedback: procure customer feedback and answer related issues and concerns which may arise;

  • Optimize the Site: better understand Site and platform performance, maintain technical performance and optimize and personalize user experience;

  • Customer and vendor legal compliance: discharge our contractual obligations, perform due diligence (under anti-money laundering, sanctions screening and other crime prevention and detection laws and regulatory requirements) which may involve automated screening checks to verify identification and prevent fraud;

  • Physical security: provide security to our offices, events and other premises;

  • Online security: protect our information assets and technology platforms from

    unauthorized access or usage and monitor for malware and other security threats;

  • Comply with legal obligations: comply with our legal and regulatory obligations

    including auditing and reporting requirements, and prevent the fraudulent use of our

    services;

  • Business transactions: prepare for, evaluate and give effect to a merger, acquisition, reorganization, restructuring, sale of business, or similar business transaction that Alida decides to enter into.

    We used the personal information collected from business contacts to provide them and the organization they represent with information they requested and other information we believe is of interest to them; to improve our products, information, distribution, and marketing; to make and receive orders and shipments; to process payments; and to communicate with business contacts and their organizations.

    We use the personal information of website users and business contacts to protect and secure our business operations, assets, online services, network, and information and technology resources; to investigate, prevent, detect and take action regarding fraud, unauthorized access, situations involving potential threats to the rights or safety of any person or third party, or other unauthorized activities or misconduct; to manage and respond to actual and potential legal disputes and claims, and to otherwise establish, defend or protect our rights or interests, including in the context of anticipated or actual litigation with third parties.

    We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of California residents under 16 years of age. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes other than those referred to in Subsection 1798.121(a) of the CCPA.

2. Your Rights under the CCPA

As a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA, subject to the limitations and exceptions set forth in the CCPA:

    • The right to know what personal information we have collected about you, including the categories of personal information, the categories of sources from which the personal information is collected, the business or commercial purpose for collecting, selling, or sharing personal information, the categories of third parties to whom we disclose personal information, and the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

    • The right to delete personal information that we have collected from you.

    • The right to correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you.

    • The right to opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information by us. We do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising any of the categories of personal information that we collect about California residents.

    • The right to limit our use of sensitive personal information to purposes specified in Subsection 1798.121(a) of the CCPA. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes other than those specified in Subsection 1798.121(a) of the CCPA.

    • The right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for the exercise of privacy rights conferred by the CCPA.

3. How to Exercise Your CCPA Rights

  • Methods of Submission and Instructions: To submit a request to exercise your rights to know, delete or correct, please populate the webform accessible here or submit an email request to privacyofficer@alida.com or call this toll-free number: (888) 866-7174. Please specify in your request the personal information about you that you would like to have provided, deleted or corrected.

  • Verification: Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a request related to your personal information. You may also make a request on behalf of your minor child. You may designate an authorized agent by taking the steps outlined under "Authorized Agent" further below. In your request or in response to us seeking additional information, you, or your authorized agent, must provide sufficient information to allow us to reasonably verify that you are, in fact, the person whose personal information was collected which will depend on your prior interactions with us and the sensitivity of the personal information being requested. We may ask you for information to verify your identity and, if you do not provide enough information for us to reasonably verify your identity, we will not be able to fulfil your request. We will only use the personal information you provide to us in a request for the purposes of verifying your identity and to fulfil your request.

  • Fees: We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.

  • Authorized Agents: You can designate an authorized agent to make a request under the CCPA on your behalf if the authorized agent is a natural person or a business entity registered with the Secretary of State of California, we receive a written authorization stating that you have authorized the authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf which has been signed by you and the authorized agent, and we have verified the identity of you and the authorized agent. If you provide an authorized agent with power of attorney pursuant to California Probate Code sections 4121 to 4130, it may not be necessary to perform the above steps, and we will respond to any request from the authorized agent in accordance with the CCPA.
